DECADES OF MARINE MECHANICS EXPERIENCE
With over 40 years combined experience in marine mechanics and boat rigging, our crew at Riddle Marine strives to bring the highest professionalism to all of our marine services. Riddle Marine now holds Outboard Service Certifications for Mercury (including the new Mercury V12 engines), along with Mercruiser, and Volvo Penta Marine Diesel Drives & Transmissions Certification along with ABYC certifications for marine electrical.
Founded in 2011 as “Riddle Boatworks” we began with a focus on building a line of boats crafted for Hawaiian waters using the highest quality materials in the market for longevity and high performance. Eventually, the business expanded to fill a need in the Big Island retail market, opening a marine retail store that specialized in fiberglass supply. The retail store has become a leading source for fiberglass supply and composites, marine engine parts, and boating accessories in Kona. Our location, conveniently positioned across from Honokohau harbor on Queen Kaahumanu Hwy makes us an easy stop for your boating needs.
The business’s power center grew with the increasing demand for highly experienced, certified mechanics to perform re powers and diagnostic repairs on the Big Island., which led to partnerships with leading manufactures such as Mercury and Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, and eventually led to partnerships with Seakeeper, Mako Boats and Highfield. Over the years, Riddle Marine has grown into one of the leading suppliers of outboards in the state with demand for services and sales being met on all islands. Our high demand service center continues to be a reliable offering to our community of fishermen and boaters who need the reliability in their boat and their motors as a top priority.
Now, Riddle Marine has expanded to bring the beloved MAKO Boats brand back to Hawaii. The newly redesigned line of Offshore Boats is hitting the market starting in 2026 with the new 22.6 and the new 24.6, with the 26ft option coming right around the corner. Mako has a long history with the people of Hawaii and we are excited to share what Mako has to offer to a new generation of boaters.

OUR COMMUNITY
You can find us in the Honokohau district of Kailua Kona on the Big Island. Honokohau Harbor is a full-service Marina offering dry dock facilities, and over 250 moorings. Kona is a world-renowned hub for big-game sport-fishing and tournaments as it is characterized by calm waters and immediate deep-sea access. It is known for it’s access to blue marlin, but also offers manta dives, honu sightings, dolphin encounters and abundant coral life.
Our boating community in Kona is well versed and specialized with a culture that revolves around expert knowledge of local waters . This seaside community meets up with the Hualalai mountains and world renowned coffee to round it out.

TOWING & HAUL-OUTS
We provide island-wide boat towing and trailer haul-out services from the Honokohau Harbor for those that need transportation or support getting your boat out of the water. We will also take your boat right to our shop if it needs servicing!

BULK ICE VENDING
Our Ice Vending Machine offers 24 Hrs. a day of food grade ice in bags or bulk, located at the Honokohau Harbore Boat Ramps for your convenience. Up to 6000 Lb dumps available.
